Kolo Lvova
Kolo Lvova is a series of round tables on the contemporary development of Lviv and the city’s perspectives in the near future under the title “Kolo Lvova”
The Kolo’s main purpose is to create an attractive and efficient site for the representatives of different urban milieus to meet in an open and informed atmosphere to discuss specific issues of Lviv’s urban life and development, with the Center’s premises serving as an especially “neutral” space and facilitator for the encounter and exchange of diverse views and professional expertise.
Through the Kolo, the Center does not only seek to enhance communication within Lviv’s public sphere but also to provide the latter with additional access to information about relevant urban experiences in other cities in and outside Ukraine.
All topics, presented and discussed at the Kolo must be specific and clearly defined as well as currently relevant to Lviv’s needs, such as for instance, the transformation of post-industrial brown-sites, the development of new means of public transport, or the provision and preservation of public playgrounds. Each meeting opens with a thorough background presentation on its topic, which usually includes a survey of comparative international experience. Parts of the Kolo’s background materials and summaries of its discussions will be published on the Center’s website and on Lviv’s internet forum www.zaxid.net.
