10.11.2026, 18:30
Conference Room of the Center for Urban History
We invite you to the presentation of the international program "Small Centres of the World", founded by the Fundacja Pogranicze in Sejny.
The event will begin with performative readings from Krzysztof Czyżewski's book "A Small Centre of the World", accompanied by music. In the Centre's courtyard, selected excerpts from various language editions of the book will be read by fellows of the "Small Centres of the World" program and participants of the international "Dilemma" Academy, which is taking place in Lviv at this time.
This will be followed by a public discussion about the book, the program and the concept of the "Small Centres of the World," featuring Krzysztof Czyżewski, Weronika Czyżewska-Ponczyluż, Inna Zolotar and representatives of Ukrainian "Small Centres of the World." The discussion will be moderated by Yevheniia Nesterovych.
"Small Centres of the World"
It is an international cultural and educational programme that develops local communities through culture, education, the preservation of memory, dialogue and participatory collaboration. The programme is based on the idea that small towns, villages, local cultural institutions and community initiatives can be independent hubs for the creation of meaning and social change, rather than merely the periphery of large cities.
The event will take place as part of the public program "Weaving the Heritage" of the "REHERIT 2.0: Common Responsibility for Shared Heritage" project.
The "REHERIT 2.0" project is implemented by the Center for Urban History and the "Regional Development" Center of the PPV Economic Development Agency with financial support from the European Union.
This publication was created with the financial support of the European Union. The content is the sole responsibility of the partners of the “REHERIT 2.0” project and does not necessarily reflect the views of the European Union.
