Leonid Peisakhin's research focuses on the formation of national, political, ideological, and cultural identities. He has previously done research in India on corruption and freedom of information laws and is currently engaged in a project on formation of political loyalties among Chinese soldiers in the 1950s. At this talk, Leonid Peisakhin presented some preliminary findings on the current state of society in Ukraine.

is a PhD candidate in Political Science at Yale University in the United States. He is in Ukraine researching variation in political culture either side of the former imperial border between Austria-Hungary and the Russian Empire.
