"Home of My Dreams"

The artistic-educational program for
children (ages 8-10) "Home of My Dreams" took place on November 19.  The program is one of the
events taking place within the "Home: A Century of Change" exhibition at
the Center for Urban History of East Central Europe.

"Home" is many things to a child: family and the building where she
lives, the furniture and everyday things surrounding her. The objective
of "Home of My Dreams" is to unlock preexisting knowledge, and
encourage children to draw conclusions from presented material, develop
perspective in their thinking, and try the role of the builder of their
"dream home". The classes will stress the ethical, aesthetic, cultural
and artistic aspects of the concept of home.

The project aims to develop creative potential, and acquaint the
young audience with the wondrous world contained in the concept of home.
Creativity teaches children freedom, expression, and improvisation.
Group work will teach them to exchange creative ideas, as well as
realize common creative conceptions. Each class will be dedicated to a
separate aspect of "home". In light of the audience’s age (6 – 10
years), theoretical material will be made "user-friendly", and presented
in models, images, and interactive classes.
