Center for Urban History, Lviv

During the presentation, participants introduced the results of a year-long project of researching and collecting information, as well as told about content and features of the education platform  "LIVE(through) the 1990s". The website developers suggest "playing the history" such as compose and decompose stories, build the links and trace how and whether all details comply with the text-book history versions, thus going beyond the narrow topics. The chronology of the study covers the period of 1986-1996.

It is the history you cannot find on the pages of school textbooks. It is vibrant and relevant, contrasting and harsh, absurd and truthful. You will not find any lists of dates, dry facts, global events and stories of great people. Instead, you will get to know a mosaic of personal stories, memories, and plots that show the transformation period of the late 20th century in details such as everyday routines, practices, events, and stories.

LIVE(through) the 1990s  - is an education platform on the 1990s in Lviv based on the project of the Center for Urban History Lviv Interactive. It was designed on the basis of a photo exhibition of Tadeusz Rölke "Tomorrow Will Be Better" displayed at the Center for Urban History in 2016-2017. It is a product of a year-long work collecting and analyzing information and creating informational and entertaining content.
