Researcher, art historian. She studied in Kyiv at the bachelor's program in Oriental Studies (2015-2019) and the master's program in Art History (2022-2024). Since 2024, she has been pursuing her PhD. Natalia's research interests are in the field of environmental art history, art history methodology, and history as such.

In her dissertation project, Natalia focuses on the study of the visual culture of the interwar period, which reflected the implementation of the Soviet-Russian extractivist policy towards Ukraine in the late 1920s and 1930s. The visual materials, primarily paintings from the Special Fund collection of the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Oleksandr Dovzhenko's film Ivan, or Dzyga Vertov's Enthusiasm: Symphony of Donbas, depict Soviet industrialization, but also Soviet practices of resource exploitation and control that deprived Ukraine of its mineral resources while stimulating the economic and military growth of Russia and, ultimately, the entire Soviet Union.

Natalia's research residency at the Center for Urban History is primarily aimed at collecting materials for her dissertation research. As part of her stay, Natalia plans to familiarize herself with the digital archive of photographs from the 1920s and 1930s from the Pokrovsk Historical Museum, Donetsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, Kramatorsk City History Museum, and other institutions created in 2020-2021 as part of the Un/Archiving Post/Industry project. During the residency, Natalia also aims to work through the library of the Center for Urban History and consult with researchers who have experience working with photographic materials related to the history of Ukrainian industry.
