The British Council Ukraine and the Centre for Urban History of Central-East Europe invited creative entrepreneurs, professional moderators and trainers, community development specialists, art managers, and anyone who aspires to spark the dialogue within their communities to take part in an ambitious training session. The session was facilitated by Centre curators, Bohdan Shumylovych and Serhiy Tereschenko.

Our Goals:

  • To introduce the British "Future City Game" methodology: a collaborative tool for community engagement used by municipalities and NGOs in 14 European countries;
  • To launch a website connecting a virtual group of activists ready to work with and for their communities.

Among the Ukrainian Success Stories to be presented:

  • The Community initiative "Saving Mercury" (Lviv)
  • The "Transparent Office" (Vinnytsya)
  • Projects of the Garage Gang (Kyiv)
  • Tourism infrastructure development and city promotion (Kamyanets-Podiliskiy)
  • "Mysterious Kyiv" Project and on-line journal community
  • Sevastopol Festival Movement

Among our trainers were: representatives of city councils, art festival directors, heads of art groups and cultural institutions.
