Sniatynbook: Social Interactions in a Little Town

The presentation of Center grantee Dr. Olga Linkiewicz was the culmination of interdisciplinary research regarding the cultural memory of Sniatyn’s past in Eastern Halychyna that was conducted by the Center for Urban History, the Polish Academy of Sciences’ Institute of History, the Lviv Polytechnic National University, the Geschichtswerkstatt Europa program "Paths of Remembrance" and the Remembrance, Responsibility, Future Foundation (EVZ).
The research is a part of Dr. Linkiewicz’s academic work that involves the spread and reception of modern cultural patterns and values in the community of a provincial town in interwar Poland.

Dr. Olga Linkiewicz
is a cultural anthropologist and a lecturer at the Institute of History. She cooperates with the Artes Liberales College at Warsaw University, the Museum of History of Polish Jews and the Fund for Polish-German Cooperation. In 2010 she was granted the “Remain with Us!” scholarship by the weekly “Polityka.”
