Anastasia works at Karazin National University in Kharkiv. The focus of her research is on urban culture of Modern Kharkiv of the late 19th – early 20th century. It was the topic of her Candidate dissertation research presented in 2019 (major – History of Ukraine). The scope of her research interests includes urban studies, memory policy, and cultural heritage. In addition to academic research as such, Anastasia also engages in cultural projects on architectural heritage of interwar Modernism and industrial heritage (Bauhaus Zaporizhzhia: Universal nature of phenomena of Zaporizhzhia Modernism and the Bauhaus School. The issues in Preserving Modernist Heritage; Industrial Kharkiv).

In Lviv, Anastasia will be searching for new perspectives on urban modernity. She will conduct comparative analysis of modernity models in Kharkiv and Lviv, and hopefully get useful advice from researchers at the Center for Urban History. The research topic enables the application of interdisciplinary relations between history and sociology, urban studies, and city anthropology. The approach is in line with current trends in Humanities. It highlights the category of lifestyles as it can be viewed from an urbanistic position. In other words, it can be interpreted through the lens of formation of specific spaces  typical for city only, and from the anthropological stance, such as behavior of citizens making urban space and preconditioned by it at the same time.
