Over the time of his almost 70-year-long reign (1848 - 1916), the emperor of the Austrian Empire Franz Josef had visited Lviv five times. Every time, a visit was unlike all previous visits. Each visit is an interesting story in itself. However, when we compare different years, we can see more than just a walk a top official took around Lviv. Specifically, we can trace how the imperial policy was changing, how communities were developing (ethnic communities, among them), and how the city was transforming.

A historian Nazar Kis developed a virtual walk for the "Lviv Interactive" project, along the emperor’s paths in Lviv. On October, 11, at 3 p.m., he will take you along the places in the city.
