Metinvest Polytechnic Technical University.
Associate Professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Social and Humanitarian Studies at Metinvest Polytechnic Technical University (Zaporizhzhia). He graduated from the Taras Shevchenko Luhansk State Pedagogical University and completed his postgraduate studies in the history of Ukraine at the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University. He defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences on the state of Ukraine's social sphere during the years of Nazi occupation. Currently, his primary area of academic interest is the social policy of the Soviet government during the postwar reconstruction and the late Stalinist period. His research interests also include the history of urban infrastructure and transportation during World War II and the postwar period, the USSR's policy on forced migrations and deportations, and international relations.
During his residency at the Center for Urban History in Lviv, he plans to investigate the regional aspects of postwar social recovery, as well as the restoration and transformation of the social welfare system in the Lviv region during the late Stalinist era. The focus will be on the intersection of institutional decisions made by the Soviet authorities and the lived experiences of both disadvantaged city dwellers and people who found themselves in a region that became the epicenter of Sovietization, accelerated urbanization, a radical change in the ethno-demographic composition, and the destruction of their traditional way of life as a result of the region's incorporation into the USSR. This research will form part of the scholar's doctoral project, and the findings will be published in academic papers and articles.
