WRO International Media Art Biennaleis a leading forum for new forms of media art in Poland and Central Europe. Beginning from its inception in December 1989, WRO has worked with art forms that employ contemporary means of creation and communication. The WRO Biennale began as the Sound Basis Visual Art Festival, and was initially dedicated primarily to audiovisual works in the forms of video and computer art, installations, performances, and multimedia presentations. From 1993 onwards the festival has explored new territories of digital artistic expression. WRO studies the artist’s relations to extant technology, and the blurring of lines between high and popular culture, local and universal community, commercial and independent work.

WRO’11 Flash is a dynamic and intense compilation of the most notable events and tendenices of media art presented at the WRO’10 Biennale. The compilation contains film of performances, documentation of media installations, and presents the concepts, people, and problems of import-intervention  into the local art scene.
