We invite you to the screening of home and amateur films "Legacy from the Drawer", which were once found by the Urban Media Archive of the Center for Urban History.

Private and community collections often remain on the margins. But can we think of them as part of the heritage that is worth preserving? How can we rethink the role of archives through their preservation? Finally, what is an archive today? What stories and broader contexts can materials "from the drawer" on fragile media tell us about? How can the usual footage of family celebrations, leisure, recreation, or travel become sources for researchers, inspiration for artists, curators, or urban development managers?

The screening is a special event of the forum's program "Tourism in Ukraine: Today's Demands" and a part of the [unarchiving] program and the HeritEDGE: Digital Archiving and Research project of the Center for Urban History with the support of the University of St. Andrews.
