Historian, archivist, and staff member at the History Museum of PJSC "Dniprospetsstal" (Zaporizhzhia). Researcher of industrial history and specialist in museum studies. He graduated from the History Department of the Zaporizhzhia State Pedagogical Institute (1983). He began his professional career as a research associate at the Zaporizhzhia History Museum of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve on Khortytsia Island. Since 1992, he has worked at the Dniprospetsstal Plant History Museum. His professional interests include the preservation and digitization of industrial heritage, research into the history of Ukraine's industrial enterprises, and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies in museum practice.
He is a co-author of publications dedicated to the development of the metallurgical industry. He is an active member of the Association of Technical Museum Workers of Ukraine and a regular participant in the "Technical Museum: History, Experience, Prospects" conferences. He has received professional awards for his contributions to the development of museum work.
As a fellow of the LivArch program for documenting and archiving the war at the Center for Urban History, Iurii will work on projects related to digital methods for processing large volumes of archival data. Specifically, he will be involved in digitizing factory periodicals (the "Elektrometalurg" newspaper), creating catalogs of employees and publications using artificial intelligence tools, which will offer a new perspective on the social history of industrial Zaporizhzhia.
