Public discussion was held at Center's conference room with the Director of the International Forum at Berlin Theater Meeting, Uwe Gössel (Berlin). Attendees was given the opportunity to discuss contemporary European theatrical processes, approaches to the management of theaters, festivals, and the development and realization of stand-alone theatrical projects and co-productions. German theater festivals received special attention during the event.


Uwe Gössel

noted German theatrical scholar, dramaturge, and theater manager, Gössel studied Applied Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Practice at Hildesheim University. From 1999 until 2002 he worked as a staff dramaturge at the Volkstheater in Rostock, and then in Spring 2002 became the lead dramaturge at Berlin’s legendary Maxim Gorky Theater. Since 2004 he has served as a board member of the German Dramaturgische Gesellschaft. He is the author of numerous theatrical and arts projects. Since 2006 Uwe Gössel has directed the longest-running (50 years), and among the most prestigious world theatrical events – the International Forum of the Theatertreffen Berlin.
