A Lecture: Languages of Modern Art: Blood and Beauty

On 9 September 2009 at 7pm, in cooperation with the "Art Kliuch" association and in continuation of his lecture cycle "Opening the World of Art," Bohdan Shumylovych from the Center for Urban History, gave a lecture on "Languages of Modern Art: Blood and Beauty."

He talked about anti-aesthetics, roots of negative themes in art and about the nature of aesthetic judgment in general. Why can the presence of blood, urine or death scenes be called art? Is it art at all? What is art?
